# Row Count, regardless of uniqueness

Hi Clay! Thanks for your question. Here’s the [announcement](https://community.parabola.io/t/new-steps-to-group-and-summarize/228) we made about the updated Group By steps.

1. The step you’re looking for is now called the [Count Values](https://parabola.io/transforms/count) step.
2. For this, you can always see the total number of rows within a step. It would say something like “x rows, y columns” at the top. If you need to output that number, you can either add a Row Number step, if you don’t already have an ID for your table, and then count that column using the Count Values step.
