# Filter rows by "is blank" not working

Simply that. I’m not sure if there’s some hidden data in these rows that I’m not seeing that’s causing them to register as not blank. Any hints?

I ended up just telling the filter to remove the rows that started with a left bracket, which effectively did what I needed. I’ll add a comment to point out the step in question.

Rebecca,

I’m glad that it’s working! For future reference, using a “clean data” step to remove leading and trailing spaces may have also worked – I’m guessing that there was a space or some other character that made the cell not register as “blank”.
